This afternoon jail officers tattooed my left and right arms with several scorpion marks.
as a standard operating procedure upon entering the jail premises.
As expected, I underwent several physical check-ups, so with the food that I brought.
Being a first timer visitor, as I enter the entrance door I was a little bit hesitant to go on, experiencing being inside the real world of detainees in hundreds. All eyes were toward me as I had 2 bags ( 5 orders of Chowking food ) at my left and right arms. Movie scenes immediately flashed my mind, where riots between gangs suddenly emerged, and sticks, knives flying to and fro!
There at the 2nd gate a man had a rigid wood at his right arm. My mind says to me, "Be on your guard, co'z he'll suddenly hit you! or put you on test". I and my old aunt passed him by.
Prisoners were contained in a compound. Some were standing-by, some were playing pool and watching TV. Then we reached a very small room-there my aunt's relatives-on his bed awakened.
There I understood before my very eyes their restricted environment. There also I came to know that one of the persons we were visiting was chosen by a group of gang to be their leader. My aunt named several gang like Sputnik, Bahala na and other more.
Being inside the territory of law breakers is an eerie feeling-I couldn't stop the thoughts in my mind of having seen murderers, thieves, drug pushers, etc. face-to-face.
